What does it mean to dance with soul? It’s hard to explain, but you know it when it happens! Shake Your Soul is a mindful and soulful dance experience set to the rhythms of world music. In Shake Your Soul, you’ll strengthen the mind-body connection as you move with a sense of grace, presence, joy, sensuality, fluid strength, and freedom.
Shake Your Soul is a unique blend of:
- Contemplative and mindful movement (through elements of qigong and yoga)
- Fluid and dynamic dance expression
- Creative explorations that deepen your connection to yourself and to others
In this 75-minute class, you will:
Relax and center with gentle stretching. Jen opens class with mindful stretching and yoga to warm up your muscles, release tension, and awaken your energy.
Come alive with mindful movement and dance. After warming up, Jen guides you through a dynamic range of fun and soulful movements that open you to your fluid nature, inspired by the rhythms of world music.
Release tension and cultivate joy. Dancing in concert with your fluid and spiritual natures makes Shake Your Soul a truly unique movement and wellness experience. As you “try on” different dances, you can access new ways of moving that help you to get unstuck and feel more free, uninhibited and alive.
Foster a kinder, loving connection to yourself and your body. Shake Your Soul is not about how you look, but about how you FEEL. When you flow with the music and connect to the sensations of the present moment, you can get out of you head and drop into the pure joy of moving.
Enjoy a sense of community and connection. Jen guides the class in playful movement to inspire intuition, creative expression, and a safe and soulful connection to others.
Ground in your center with Qigong. Jen brings the class to a close with simple Qigong to slow down, breathe, and ground the charge of aliveness and energy that was cultivated through the dance.
