What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, is a holistic system of natural medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago. The term “Ayurveda” is derived from the Sanskrit words “Ayur” (life) and “Veda” (science or knowledge). It’s main focus is to bring about whole-body health and well-being through balance.

Central to Ayurvedic philosophy is the concept of the three doshas—Vata (air), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (earth)—which represent different energies within the body. Everybody has a unique combination of each of these elements, and Ayurveda aims to return them to balance by incorporating diet, lifestyle and herbal remedies along with compassionate support of the mind and spirit to prevent illness and promote healing.
